If you are a voluntary group or organisation, local business, surgery, pharmacy, school or listener looking to have a community information message broadcast on Lockdown FM, you can do using the following options:
|Option 1. Record your own vocal message, (approx. 30 seconds long), e.g. using your mobile phone, and email the audio file to us at: email@example.com.|
This is our preferred option, as it allows to get your message on-air rapidly.
The quality of the microphones on modern smartphones is excellent, so this option works very well.
This option also allows you playback your recording and delete / re-record if you're not happy with how it sounds before you send it to us.
|Option 2. Email your script to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we can voice the message for you.|
Please note, due to volunteer availability, this option may have a delay.
It can also take us longer to update if a change required, but we're happy to do this if preferred.
This option may work best for one-time messages that are unlikely to require changing.
Before broadcasting voice recordings, we add some appropriate background music, etc, to make it “radio-ready”, and can typically have this on-air in a few hours. If anything changes, please send us an updated voice recording, and we’ll endeavour to rapidly update the broadcast.
Please don’t forget to say who you are, where you’re calling from, and provide contact details if required. If you’re a local business, please don’t forget your address, opening times, contact details and details of services you’re providing.
Lockdown FM is a zero income community radio station, specifically established to support the communities of Chandler’s Ford, Eastleigh and North Baddesley during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.
All services provided are completely free of charge. All we ask in return is that you let others know about us, and spread the word.
